Since I joined the website, I have had a couple of friend requests. How does this work? What does it mean when I say yes to a friend request? I need to know a bit more about this.

Great question, Phyllis. Since the website is so new, we’re still getting used to all the “ins and outs” of its capabilities. My understanding is that it has to do with the ability to form clusters of affiliations for side group discussions. However, I’ve got the question posed to our site developer so I can give a more fulsome reply. Hang tight, and I’ll have a thorough answer in a day or two. Blessings!

Phyllis (and others), here’s an answer for the quesstion about friend requests: A friend request here on the AFFN site is similar to a friend request in Facebook: 1) It allows you to send private messages to other friends; 2) It allows you to follow, or track, the activity on the site of your friends; and 3) It allows for a conversation with a cluster of friends outside of the public forum, the “Cloister”. So, all in all, it’s a way to communicate more effectively, especially in a private fashion, with others on the site. Hope this helps!
